Terri L. Dillon
Senior Consultant
Terri Dillon joined Whitney Jones, Inc. in 1986 and has helped hundreds of nonprofits in the Southeast to advance their missions. Terri's expertise is in a wide variety of areas related to development, including strategic planning, marketing, board and staff development, volunteer training, grantwriting, donor management software, campaign surveys, and annual and capital campaigns.
With over 30 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, Terri especially enjoys working with organizations that are eager to learn how to navigate their first capital campaign. "I wholeheartedly believe a successful capital campaign is about much more than just reaching the goal. The campaign should increase the community's awareness of and commitment to the organization; help establish a pool of volunteers who are dedicated to the mission of the organization; and position the organization for long-term sustainability."
Terri has been active with the American Association of Fundraising Council (publishers of Giving USA), Junior Achievement of Winston-Salem, the N.C. Center for Non-profits, Leadership Winston-Salem ( Class of 2001), and the Triad's Leave a Legacy Initiative. She is a founding member, former Board member and former Board President of the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) - Triad Chapter, as well as a former Board member and Board President of Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center. Terri is also an active member of the Board of Winston-Salem's Downtown Rotary Club where she currently serves as Club President.
A native of Winston-Salem, Terri enjoys an active life on her Guilford County farm with husband, Victor and numerous four-legged friends. Together Terri and Vic have four grown children and four grandchildren, with whom they share a love of sports and outdoor activities.
