F. Whitney Jones, PhD.
President

Whitney Jones founded Whitney Jones, Inc. in 1981 and has since assisted non-profit organizations throughout the Southeast in fundraising, strategic planning, and board development. He serves as principal project director for all of our clients, having managed successful capital campaigns and fundraising projects for hundreds of clients over the years. 

Whitney was founding President of the NC-Triad Association of Fundraising Professionals. The Association named him Fundraising Executive of the Year in 1992 and awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. He has served as Chairman of the Boards of Family Foundation of North America and the Autism Society of North Carolina, a board member of Family Services America and Alpha North America, and as a member of the boards of Associates in Christian Counseling, ABC Center for Applied Behavioral Analysis and the AAFRC Trust for Philanthropy. 

Whitney studied at the University of Paris, and graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, with a BA in English. He received his Ph.D. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also served on the faculty. Whitney taught at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, NC before entering the field of fundraising in 1977 as the Development Director for Old Salem, Inc. 

Whitney and Suzanne enjoy spending time in the mountains of Boone, NC. They also love spending time with their five grown children and four grandchildren.
