Whitney Jones, Inc.

Mary Ellen Shuntich joined Whitney Jones, Inc. in 1995 and has directed numerous capital campaigns in North Carolina as well as Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama.

Mary Ellen has been a fundraising professional for over 40 years, having previously worked as a development officer for two large universities in the Southeast. Her expertise focuses on leadership giving, strategic planning, board development, capital campaigns and planned giving. Mary Ellen is driven by the synergy created when people come together with a vision, and she considers it an honor to have a career in the non-profit sector.

A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) in 1991, Mary Ellen is a founding member and former President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Charlotte Chapter. She was named Outstanding Fund Raising Executive in Charlotte in 2001, and has served on a number of non-profit boards.

Mary Ellen received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University and graduate certificate in counseling from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA. Mary Ellen has been a member of the Charlotte Providence Rotary Club since 1994 and served as President in 2000 and 2022.

 

A resident of Charlotte, NC since 1987,  Mary Ellen has 3 sons and 6 grandchildren.
